Nuwan Subhasinghe is a peace practitioner and researcher, who graduated with a degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and accomplished his Master's in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is the former Co-Coordinator at the National Peace Council of Sri Lanka, Lead consultant at the Resilience Research, Training, Consulting, Senior Program Coordinator at the Walpola Rahula Institute, Sri Lanka and Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Open University Sri Lanka (Matara Regional Branch). In addition, he has been working with Civil Society Organizations and government bodies such as the Center for Poverty Analysis, Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections, Rights Now- Collective for Democracy on short term assignments. Furthermore, he has completed a Master class on Conflict Transformation of the International Civilian Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding Training Program, offered by the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Stadtschlaining Austria.
LLB (UK), reading Attorney-At-Law at Sri Lankan Law College. Been a part of IYAP since 2017 as a Volunteer. Major interest is on social work, Youth Development and being a social Advocate. For me I always believe “Work for a cause, not for applause”

I have previously interned at the Commercial Bank of Ceylon (PLC) and also have gained my experiences, working at the United Nations Country office in Sri Lanka.
