About the Position

IYAP, a leading non-governmental organization working towards the betterment of youth in Sri Lanka, is seeking an experienced Advocacy Manager to support its mission and vision. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Advocacy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies to promote youth development and empower young people. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in designing and executing effective advocacy campaigns, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, and influencing policy change in the youth development sector.

Degree of expertise and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as political science, public policy, or communications).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in advocacy or a related field.
  • Knowledge of policy-making processes and advocacy strategies.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Requirements, Performance Evaluation, and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advocacy plans to promote policy change and public awareness on key issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other organizations.
  • Conduct research on relevant policy issues and develop policy recommendations.
  • Plan and execute events, campaigns, and other activities to raise awareness and support for the organization’s advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of advocacy strategies and adjust them as needed.
  • The Advocacy Manager works closely with the Executive Director and other staff members to ensure that the organization’s advocacy efforts align with its overall mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement the organization’s advocacy strategies.

  • Conduct research and develop policy recommendations.
  • Plan and execute events, campaigns, and other activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of advocacy strategies.
