Peace Incubators is a project which provided a platform to train youth with knowledge and skills that spearhead youth-led initiatives geared towards creating communal harmony among their communities. Peace Incubator is an inclusive space to share and empower young people with knowledge and tools for social cohesion. The program entailed to train youth facilitators on ground-based advocacy efforts using modern video broadcasting platforms and technologies. Establishing a network of youth in the selected districts to deliver impactful initiatives on Social Cohesion and a structured competition to showcase their advocacy efforts to the community and beyond.
The main aim is to create a network with the Participants and working towards attaining the end goal of the project; by bringing Youth voices from diverse communities in an effort to create communal harmony itself for creating Social Cohesion. 12 selected participants were trained on ground-based advocacy efforts and how to create a network of youth to deliver impactful initiatives in their communities on Social Cohesion which they can showcase to the community and beyond.
IYAP (International Youth Alliance for Peace) with the support of The USAID- SCORE conducted this project in Jaffna and Kandy districts. Both districts comprised of participants from all the different religions, castes, and creeds. The participants were provided valuable insight on how to actively march towards achieving peace and social Cohesion. Miss. Aafrin Yaseen as the project officer is providing an immense contribution to bringing this into a success.
