Capstone Activity (Workshops and Community Support Projects)

Young people are often regarded as envoys of social change for powerful communities. Not only are youth demonstrating to be catalysts and prolific communicators in social change, but their involvement signals a possibility for civic stewardship that signifies sustainable peace and equity in the years to come.

Thus, SYA has come up with its initiative to support community support projects or capstone activities in 14 districts under the leadership of SYA interns.

SYA accepts that young people have unique potential, as well as the energy, enthusiasm, optimism, and creativity to collaboratively explore solutions to complex and worthwhile challenges. Therefore, through community support projects, SYA aims to get the youth involved in that process, which provides an important sense of validation and empowerment regarding their own lives and their community surroundings.

To prepare the interns for this process, 5 interns from each district were trained and equipped with the necessary skills to prepare themselves for capstone activities in regional workshops held throughout June.

The implementation of the community support projects conducted by the interns throughout the month of July in 12 districts by upholding the impact of SYA at community level.
