Mr. Thirukumar Premakumar

Founder & President

Thirukumar Premakumar, a humanist and the face of International Youth Alliance for Peace. He carries a wide ranging experience of 10 years with several local media and International Radio station such as European Tamil Radio and held many senior level positions in number of local and international Ngo's. And years into Leadership and Peace building Training to serve as a trainer. His contribution in enriching young people’s experiences is supported in trainings with Recent Global Examples and Practical takeaways. What began with a desire to serve and train the youth community, led to the founding & establishment of “International Youth Alliance for Peace” in 2013. Thirukumar has trained above thousand participants across all levels starting from Community to Senior Management of Ngo's and over 300 Workshops in more than 50 schools across Sri Lanka. Thirukumar’s deep perspective, yet astounding simplicity leaves an everlasting impact on the participants as well as the ones who get to know him. He is a Man of Passion and Purpose, is high spirited and has a never ending approach towards innovation.

Ms. Saranya Sivasubramaniam

Executive Director

Ms. S. Yalini Saranya is the Director at the International Youth Alliance for Peace (GURANTEE) Limited. In her professional capacity, she works as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Political Science & Public Policy, University of Colombo and Open University of Sri Lanka. And she is currently working as a Programme Officer in the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS). Prior to joining BCIS, she worked as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Science & Public Policy, University of Colombo and also as a Field & Reporting Liaison Officer in the Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA). She is a graduate of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) specializing in Political Science and Public Policy and currently she is reading for her Masters in Human Rights and Democratization at Faculty of Law, University of Colombo.

Ms. Shayani Weeresinghe

Non-Executive Director

Shayani Weeresinghe is an Environmental Scientist with over 8 years of work experience in the corporate and development sector. Currently, she is the Delivery Manager for Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) research at an international financial outsourcing firm. Previously, she has respectively held posts as the Assistant Manager Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability at Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka, and Project Lead for European Commission projects in disaster resilience education. She has successfully established numerous projects across water stewardship, waste management, community development, women’s empowerment and disaster resilience. She has also notably published and presented her research, both locally and internationally, during her academic tenure. A former World Economic Forum 'Global Shaper', she is always happy to assist the next generation of youth advocates and volunteers.

Mr. Sashan Rodrigo

Non-Executive Director

Sashan is an environmental consultant with a focus on urban livelihoods, water policy, the water, energy, food, and ecosystem nexus, urban water conservation, urban water education, and urban water governance and institutions. His work experience includes projects in the USA, and Sri Lanka with non-governmental organizations, local nonprofits, private firms, and higher education institutions. Sashan is the CEO of Eco Lanka Consultants which specializes in monitoring, evaluation and research on environmental projects. He has a masters in science and environmental policy from the University of Minnesota, a masters in non-profit management from Saint Cloud State University, and a bachelors in civil engineering from the University of Texas, in the USA.

Mr. Dilan Fonseka

Non-Executive Director

Dilan is an individual who believes in organisational growth through empowerment of individuals, and harnessing of personal skills. He values the importance of progressive strategic partnerships, and trusts in potential of Sri Lankan youth. Dilan is currently in the Business Management Path at Softlogic Life, while being part of other entrepreneurial ventures. He was previously employed at AIA’s Sri Lankan head office, Colombo 7, in AIA’s Partnership Distribution channel’s Management cadre and also had been a Departmental Head and an ExCo (Executive Committee) member of Holborn Assets’ Sri Lankan office. He was a student of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo 10 and of Wisdom Business Academy, Colombo 3 (CIMA). He became the Best “Leo of the Year” of the Lions District 306 B1 (2014/15), the Best Leo Vice President of the Multiple District 306 (Sri Lankan level), and he also worked as the Leo District Secretary for the District 306 B1 (2015/16). He graduated with Distinction in the Degree Path (Graduate Diploma in Management) at Business Management School, Colombo 4 (Pearson’s affiliated). As a Director of the IYAP he encourages personal and career development, entrepreneurship, charity activities and he also encourages inspired individuals to take up leadership.
