Nuwan Pradeep Subasinghe

Project Director

Nuwan Subhasinghe is a peace practitioner and researcher, who graduated with a degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and accomplished his Master’s in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is the former Co-Coordinator at the National Peace Council of Sri Lanka, Lead consultant at the Resilience Research, Training, Consulting, Senior Program Coordinator at the Walpola Rahula Institute, Sri Lanka and Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Open University Sri Lanka (Matara Regional Branch). In addition, he has been working with Civil Society Organizations and government bodies such as the Center for Poverty Analysis, Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections, Rights Now- Collective for Democracy on short term assignments. Furthermore, he has completed a Master class on Conflict Transformation of the International Civilian Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding Training Program, offered by the Austrian Study Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution in Stadtschlaining Austria.

Aafrin Yaseen

Project Officer

Aafrin Yaseen is a LLB (UK) degree holder, who is reading her Attorney-At-Law at Sri Lankan Law College. She has been a part of IYAP since 2017 as a Volunteer. Her major interests are on Social Work, Youth Development and being a Social Advocate. She strongly believes in “Work for a cause, not for applause” slogan as her motto of the work.

Chanaka Nugegoda

Master Trainer

Over 15 years of Business Management experience, Leadership, Compliance and Training. Chanaka Nugegoda has extensive experience working on high visibility projects and programs. He has managed and supervised technical and professional development courses for major organizations, lead, trained, and developed individuals resulting in promotions and career advancement. He is fearless of challenges, in order to seek new ways of working and better methodologies to create best value with the passion towards training and development.

Mohammed Zameer

Master Trainer

Mohamed Zameer has specialised in Learning and Talent Development with more than 4 years of industry experience in Banking, Technology, Tele-Communications, FMCG and Retail with 10 years of diversified experience and exposure in the business world. He holds his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Strategic Management at Asia E-University.

Suresh Thivviyan

Internship Manager

Thivviyan Suresh is a result oriented, highly energetic and quick learner, with excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills and a responsible team player with the ability to collaborate and work towards success. He studied at St. Peter’s College and obtained his Diploma in Business English at University of Colombo and his Bachelors of Arts in Humanities and Social Sciences specializing in Politics & International Relations, obtained from the Open University of Sri Lanka. He has previously interned at the Commercial Bank of  Ceylon (PLC) and also have gained his experiences, working at the United Nations Country office in Sri Lanka.

Sulakshi Madawala

Internship Manager

Sulakshi S.E. Madawala is a graduate of St. Cloud State University, U.S.A, with a BSc in International Business and specializations in Finance and political science. She has a passion for working towards promoting social, economic, and environmental development and has conducted advocacy efforts in the U.S. to influence laws and policies through lobbying. She has a growing interest in working with organizations established to resolve conflicts and foster reconciliation, and she believes that “Peace should never be taken for granted.”

A passion for advocating for equality and social cohesion, attracted Thanushi to IYAP when she joined as an Internship Manager. She possesses a BA in Social Sciences and a Diploma in Diplomacy and World Affairs, and apart from her involvement at IYAP, Thanushi also serves as a Visiting Lecturer of English at the Human Resource Management Institute of Sri Lanka and at the English Department of Royal Institute, Colombo.
