About the Position

 IYAP Sri Lanka is seeking a highly motivated and skilled People and Cultural Intern to support our team in delivering key HR activities. Reporting to the HR Manager, the intern will assist in the implementation of policies and procedures related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational culture. This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain hands-on experience in the management of human resources in a non-profit organization, while supporting IYAP’s mission to empower youth and create positive social change in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong commitment to IYAP’s values of equity, inclusion, and empowerment.

Degree of expertise and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in HR, employee engagement, culture-building, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite

Job Requirements, Performance Evaluation and Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and planning employee engagement activities and events
  • Conduct research and analysis on employee engagement, culture-building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Assist in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Assist in tracking and analyzing employee feedback and engagement data
  • Assist in managing and updating the organization’s internal communications channels
  • The People and Cultural Intern will work closely with the HR department to support employee engagement, culture-building, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Support the HR department in planning and executing employee engagement activities and events
  • Assist in creating and implementing strategies to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Assist in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback and engagement data
  • Assist in the management and updating of the organization’s internal communications channels
